LULAPRESS TEAM ON THE BEACH

Our Story

We are Louise & Martin and we’ve been making all sorts of art for most of our lives, from great big (Huge) art installations (Louise), small engraved art (Martin), photography(Both of us) and of course print making. We decided to create what we believe to be the prettiest, perfectly portable press on the planet and we think we’ve got close with ‘LULAPRESS’

Where it all began!

2019, July to be exact, Louise bought Martin a lovely little lino kit from Etsy for his birthday. Martin had mentioned to Louise how he’d loved making lino prints way back when and that he’d love to have another crack at it. She’s good like that! Anyway, after a few attempts at printing out his hard fought designs, he wondered if there was such a thing as a ‘lino press’ and guess what….there was!

His engineering and design background kicked in and a blueprint was forged. With design in hand and friendly engineering firm willing to play along, a prototype was made. See dusty greasy photo!

Things felt pretty exciting and plans were made to make 100 or so. Colours were picked, company name, logos and designs all were under construction.

Then 2020.

And everything stopped.

And we just about survived. All of our hopes and dreams were locked in a cupboard as we navigated our way through Masks, 2 meter distancing, queueing at the supermarket and petrol for 99p!

But as we know, all of that came to an end. We decided to pick up the Lulapress baton once more and turn our dreams into reality. Our Red, Pink, Turquoise and Green machines are actually out there, making printing easier and fun. And we did that!!

At the moment, all of our presses are available in 4 beautiful colours, Turquoise, Pink, Green and Red….and in 2 sizes, A4 or A3

We want to give our customers a press that’s portable enough to move around your workshop or just plop on the kitchen table when you’re ready to print. But also powerful enough to smash out super sharp print after super sharp print.
